Project Story
Project Brief
Willmott Dixon Interiors has been appointed to refurbish two historic buildings in Sutton, South London. We will transform 137-145 High Street into modern retail and business spaces on behalf of London Borough of Sutton Council. This project was secured through Procurement Hub and is part-funded by the government’s Future High Streets Fund.
Project Solution
Willmott Dixon Interiors will carry out a full strip out of the four-storey buildings, including the removal of adjoining walls on the upper floors, to create single, large and open plan floor spaces. The basement and ground floor of each building will be refurbished as separate commercial units, and new M&E arrangements will be installed. The heritage buildings, which were formerly occupied by Topshop and Vision Express, form part of a broader strategy to revitalise Sutton town centre, which is being led by London Borough of Sutton Council.
Project Outline
The project will deliver:
- Transformation of redundant retail properties into modern retail and business spaces
- Improvement to the facilities available in Sutton, encouraging increased footfall and enhancing the local economy
- Partnering with South London Careers Hub to leave a lasting positive impact on the local community
