Project Brief

We were truly proud to be awarded the cat b fit-out of Princess Alexandra Hospital Trust’s Kao park office. The project, which was procured via the Procurement Hub framework provided 250 desk space for NHS staff members in finance, HR and other supporting roles that are also key areas of function for the NHS Trust.

These new facilities provide an agile and collaborative workplace environment allowing support staff to relocate from their existing location within the hospital to free up hospital space for the increasing need for clinical staff, also critical for fighting Covid-19.

Project Solution

The full scope of works included; creation of bright breakout areas within open plan office space, meeting rooms and a welcoming reception area. This modern office space also offers agile ways of working with advanced technology implemented within a Skype room and a new meeting room booking system that permits meeting rooms to be booked via an app in any location, allowing flexibility for all NHS staff members to use the facility.

  • Project completed within budget and defect free on the day of the Trust’s 55th Birthday
  • Implemented value engineering to keep to budget and deliver to customer expectations
  • Sourced alternative suppliers who remained open during Covid-19

Technical Apprentice Programme

Apprenticeships are a great route into construction. At Willmott Dixon, apprenticeships are available in our business support teams and also through our supply chain partners or our sister company, Fortem, in trade disciplines such as bricklaying.

We offer some entry level positions for those who are looking to take their first steps into construction. With a paid apprenticeship you will earn while you learn and obtain a Level 3 qualification. You can apply following GCSEs; you don’t to have a construction background to complete an apprenticeship.
